How to play, in one minute

Watch the walkthrough, or read the nine steps under it. The screens are examples: the names and figures in them are made up.

The steps

1. Step 1

   Start with $100,000 of play money

   It's free and there's no card. The money is virtual; the prices are real market data.

   
2. Step 2

   Race the month and the week

   The monthly race runs from the 1st to the last day of the month, on one board. The weekly race runs from Monday to Sunday: every Monday the week's return starts again at 0% for everyone, so each week has its own leader. Your balance and positions carry on.

   
3. Step 3

   Open Daily Picks

   Daily Picks is today's screener list. Tap any asset to open its analysis.

   
4. Step 4

   Read the score

   The score runs from −100 to +100. It blends nine dimensions: HMM regime, technical, trend, support and resistance, fundamentals, sector edge, sentiment, momentum and pattern. It is a composite of 9 dimensions, not a recommendation.

   
5. Step 5

   Add it to your basket: Long or Short

   Pick Long if you think it rises, or Short if you think it falls. Then choose how much of your play money to put in and confirm. A few thinly traded assets are analysis only — the dialog tells you when one can't join the race.

   
6. Step 6

   See how it fills

   While the asset's market is open, your position fills at the live price. When it's closed, it fills at the next session's open. From its fill, your basket races on the leaderboard.

   
7. Step 7

   Check the leaderboard

   On the Leaderboard, switch between “This week” and “This month” and see your place on the board.

   
8. Step 8

   Start a league with your friends

   A league is your own ranking inside the race. Share its one invite link and race your friends.

   
9. Step 9

   Close any time

   Close a position whenever you like, from your Basket.
